JUNE 2019 | The Hub Erina will be calling for singer/songwriters and vocalists applications

for its 2019 professional development program.  


Discovered is a contest and professional development program for singers and singer/songwriters aged 7yrs – 24yrs.

 This contest offers the opportunity for emerging vocalists and singer/songwriters (7 – 24yrs.)

to share the spotlight and make their way through a series of heats, for the chance to perform in the Grand Final in December and become the next Discovery.


Offering professional development with masterclasses and workshops DISCOVERED is a platform that provides feedback and professional development to young singers who aspire to follow their dreams, in an intimate performance space to a live audience.

Previous contestants have gone on to compete in Australia’s Got Talent (2016 Winner Fletch Pilon) and the Voice (2012 & 2015 winners Karise Eden and Ellie Drennan).

Battle of the Bands

Battle of the Bands is an all-inclusive contest for bands ( members | 24yrs and under ) to perform live

While providing great new music and covers for local Central Coast young people.

The contest consists of a series of 3 heats, semi- final and a grand final event as bands compete for the win.

In School Programs

­­Young Men’s Program

This interactive program has been designed to address issues facing teenage boys today. The program is developed, facilitated and resourced by professional youth development workers. This five week program will be targeting issues of self-esteem, health, group work, personal goals, bullying and healthy relationships and rage. This program is flexible to suit other identified issues.


Girls To The Front - Young Women’s Program

This interactive program has been designed to address issues facing teenage girls today. The program is developed, facilitated and resourced by professional youth development workers. This program will be targeting issues of self-esteem, health, nutrition, personal goals, bullying, healthy relationships, emotion management, introduction to feminism, gender stereotypes, body image and relaxation. This program is flexible to suit other identified issues.


Managing the Bull

Managing the Bull’ is a 4 week course, that builds resilience in bullied teens through games, activities and discussions.

Participants will learn to:

-    Recognise bullying > Discover inner strengths

-    Build self-esteem > Communicate effectively

-    Deal with cyber-bullying > Build support networks

-    Use personal protection plans


A six week anger management course for young people. RAGE is a strengths based solution focused program that is hands on, practical and also fun for kids. Parents, teachers, carers and the like have commented on how this course has helped them and their children deal with the most misunderstood human emotion, anger.

The Session themes are:

-    The Many Faces of Anger

-    The 4T’s Anger Cycle

-    Healthy Expressions of Anger

-    Getting Through the Guilt of Anger

-    Relaxation, Exercise and Diet

-    Summary, Evaluation & awards

-    Each session runs for 2 hours.




The LOVE BITES domestic and family violence and sexual assault prevention program is for students in

Year 9 and 10 of high school. LOVE BITES can also be delivered in out: of: school settings, such as alternative school programs, school support units, Juvenile Justice programs

and youth holiday programs.


  Rising Stars

The Rising Stars empowerment program is an intensive specialised stream tailored specificly to the clientele 4 x weeks – 12 x weeks ) that works with young people who struggle to participate appropriately in the community and require support and skills training to develop the competencies to behave suitably in public places and spaces.



 Let Me Entertain You

Based at the Hub Erina Youth Entertainment Venue, Erina Fair; the program provides ongoing professional development for young people interested in the entertainment industry and supports events that are planned, driven and delivered by young people.


For students currently studying Entertainment, the program can provide vocation practice that strongly links with formal learning in Event Management, Event Marketing and Practical Live Production.

-    Pathways and opportunities

-    Creative cultivation and creative leadership




The 12 week mentor program provides ongoing professional development for young artists interested in curating an exhibition.  

 For students currently studying Visual Arts, the program can provide vocation practice that strongly links with formal learning offering 4 professional development sessions with a curator, resulting in a one month exhibition in the Foyer community gallery space, Erina Centre with traffic exceeding over 17,000 people per month.

Idea to Screen

A professional development program tailored to your student’s needs.

Participants have the opportunity to work with a professional team of community arts practitioners and independent filmmakers; and participate in professional development workshops.

The program provides an opportunity to strengthen skills, develop industry networks and build project portfolios.

-    Creative cultivation and creative leadership

-    Increased participation in arts and culture among diverse groups across the regional community

-    Create new and diverse artistic work and cultural experiences

-    Increased community creativity and wellbeing

- is host to live music events since 2005, helping launch the careers of Shortstack, Elaskia, Karise Eden and Fletch Pilon.

- is renowned as a venue for rock, alternative and indie music with its BATTLE of the BANDS and DISCOVERED events.

The HUB Erina's policy of nurturing new music continues to this day, making it a great place to spot the stars of tomorrow. 


The HUB Erina | Program Development & Event Management
- The Creative Engineers project delivers professional development programs to connect young people to the Central Coast arts sector. The program provides an opportunity of creative cultivation and creative leadership for young people, linking in with the strong community of artists, performers and musicians in the region.

The HUB Erina | The Core Skills Development project delivers both accelerated foundation programs (< 12 weeks) and standard foundation programs (> 12 weeks < 12 months).
Through strategic alignment with youth focused run activities, the overall project provides a broad number of discipline based programs spanning across the arts and fitness to incorporate wellbeing.
